Healthy Dieting Made Easy

Let's face it - dieting is one of those things none of us really like. First, it forces you to admit that you're a bit overweight (that's never easy). Secondly, you have to spend more money on various programs or frozen food entrees that are small and unsatisfying. Lastly, you're tired of the on/off dieting thing. It seems like every program out there claims that their way is the most efficient and affordable, yet many of these programs fail to show you how to discover healthy dieting.
Every program I've ever seen does two basic things: 1. Limits your caloric intake and 2. Balances your proteins, fats, carbs and sugars. These two fundamentals can be very easily implemented. Losing weight the healthy way is easier than you think. Healthy dieting offers a change in lifestyle rather than a twelve week plan.
Choose Foods Close to Nature.
The very first thing you need to do is eliminate all foods that are artificial or processed. This means no light mayo or diet soda; both of these are not from nature. Reprogram your thinking away from low calorie, low fat and low carb onto questioning the foods origin. You can't go wrong with nature; you're body will work with real foods much better than lab experiments. Stick to fruits and veggies, products that are only 100% whole grain and the ability to identify ever ingredient listed on the label as real and from nature.
Limit Your Consumption.
Yes, it is time for discipline. Take a sheet of paper and keep a daily tally of your calories. You'll want to eat three meals with a snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. Eating 1800-2400 calories in day coupled with a 30 minute workout is bound to shed the weight. Healthy dieting will burn the fat away slowly. I know we all want quick and easy results, but when you choose to diet the healthy way, you should loose between .5 and 3 pounds a week. The great benefit to losing weight this way is that it will say off. When you lose 15 pounds in one week you're body will rebound eventually.
Balance Your Types of Food.
In every meal and snack you'll want to attempt to eat a healthy combination of protein, complex carbs (whole grains), healthy fats and low sugar foods. A great dinner would be baked, lean chicken breast, brown rice, broccoli and a side salad (without heavy dressing). By balancing the various types of foods, you encourage your body to work in harmony with the foods you ingest. You will also need to get rid of all added sugar in your diet. Don't replace sugar with artificial sweeteners; they're just as bad if not worse. Use xylitol or stevia to sweeten your coffee, tea cereal, etc. These are natural, sugar replacements with no calories or sugars.
If you're serious about losing weight the healthy way, follow these three basic steps and you will see tremendous results in a few weeks. Stick to it and don't allow yourself to cheat. After you get to your desired weight, then you can add in special treats every so often. Don't let the multi-million dollar weight loss companies rip you off. Find someone in your everyday life that will encourage, support and hold you accountable to this healthy dieting lifestyle. You can do anything when you put your mind to it.
